Production on 'The Maze Runner: The Death Cure' will be shut down while he recovers.
Dylan O'Brien, who stars in Fox's The Maze Runner series, was injured in an accident on set.The 24-year-old actor was shooting the third installment, The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, in British Columbia when he was hurt Thursday. He was immediately taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
Wes Ball is directing the film, which is set for release on Feb, 17, 2017. In the movie, O'Brien's character Thomas embarks on a mission to find a cure to a deadly disease known as the "Flare."
Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers, according to a statement from Fox. A source says that O'Brien will recover fully from his injuries.
The studio released the following statement: "Dylan O'Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery."
